Community Living encompasses several programs and services designed to give individuals and their families the support they need while also helping them gain skills for independence.
In comparing Easterseals RISE community living services to other programs or providers, here are some things to consider:
For adults and children living independently or with their families, community living support can provide help with accessing community resources; learning about community activities; and developing skills such as home maintenance, cooking, and budgeting.
Community living includes the family and friends program, which provides services to families who would like a specific family member or family friend to work with their loved one.
Respite services provide fun and educational activities for individuals while giving their families and caregivers an opportunity to recharge and take care of themselves.
We collaborate with other organizations to provide programming such as informational workshops and teen socials to help individuals and families connect with others.
Our call center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Anyone — program participants, family, staff — can call the center at 260.969.4254 for help with a wide range of concerns.
Medical Care: All staff are CPR certified and trained on first aid and dispensing medication. Also, each staff member is trained on each individual’s specific information.
Transportation: When transportation is required, staff use their own vehicles. We check staff driving records upon hire and annually to ensure they maintain a clean driving record. Staff also must provide continuous proof of auto insurance.
Accreditation: Community living is a CARF-accredited program.
